C-Dory 29' Venture - Description
The 29' C-Dory Venture is longer, wider, and taller than the 25' Cruiser and TomCat. With the added size we were able to incorporate many of the features that so many C-Dory owners have asked for in a larger boat. The additional features include sleeping quarters for 6 in the 3 berth areas and the cabin is lined with high quality Marine vinyl and insulation which is mildew and stain resistant.
(mildew resistant . . .An anti-microbial agent that is added during production ensures Koroseal® and Vicrtex® wallcoverings will not experience any of the problems associated with surface fungal growth.)
The vessel has many options like air conditioning/heater, refrigerator, electric stove, microwave, generator, enclosed head and shower, self bailing cockpit, larger galley and a forward viewing companion seat.
The 29’ Venture has a spacious self bailing 7’ 9” wide cockpit with a 50” wide aft seating. Included are welded Stainless steel railings along top and bow to assure safety even in rough water providing a feeling of security.
The cabin with 6’ 4” and 7’ 1” of headroom provides roomy shelter. It features a comfortable dinette, galley, 3 sleeping areas and a stand up head and shower as well as the pilot station.
The pilot’s station and dinette are located along the starboard side of the cabin. It has space underneath which serves as a sleeping area (6’ 2”x 4’) and the dinette makes into a 6’ berth.
The galley is located along the port side. The galley consists of a two burner electric stove (diesel stove/heater available), 44 gallon water supply and an 11 gallon hot water tank, refrigerator and microwave.
The forward section of the cabin features a 8’4” side angle berth, two reading lights, and a large deck hatch.
The interior trim features beautiful hard woods, with emphasis on easy maintenance and durability. The exterior door and windows have powder coated aluminum and are manufactured by Diamond Sea Glaze.
Cushions are made of high quality foam, covered with durable boat fabrics. The colors coordinate with the exterior trim. All of the cushion coverings can be removed for washing or dry cleaning.
The electrical system provides spare switches fuse holders and ground terminals for additional accessories.
A 30 amp shore power with 50’ cord and a battery charger are standard as well.
Electric windshield wipers with pantographic arms are standard.. Side windows slide open and have screens, together with the large forward deck hatch and the standard center opening window. The cabin is amply ventilated with two opening hatches in the top.
All deck hardware is stainless steel and through bolted. The top deck is a very healthy 3/4” thick. Deck hardware includes (5) through bolted SS cleats. Downriggers or other equipment requiring a sturdy mount base can be bolted on any top-walking surface. The bow rails and handholds on the top and rear of the cabin are also through bolted.
Both the cockpit sole and the top walk decks have a very aggressive nonskid. The 29’ C-Dory Venture comes standard with a 152 gallon fuel system located under the aft cockpit deck.
The fiberglass hull, decks, and house are entirely hand laid with use of balsa core composite and urethane core construction. The use of cored sandwich construction in the bottom, decks and bulkheads, in combination with the deeply molded plank lines, give the boat incredible strength and stiffness. It also does away with the need for interior bracing and floor boards, eliminating bilge cleaning and potential maintenance problems. At the same time this design maximizes interior space, making the C-Dory 29’ Venture a very roomy boat for its weight and size.
